Let it fully dry between uses. If overly saturated, stand it upright to dry; when it returns to its original light color, it’s ready to use again.
Use the included non-slip base/ silicone cover / legs (depending on the product) to keep the product slightly elevated and promote air circulation underneath.
Diatomite dries rapidly, but if it stays saturated without airflow, mold can eventually develop
Cleaning
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth to remove dust or light marks.
For deeper cleaning or to restore absorption, lightly dampen the area with water, then gently sand with the included sandpaper (preferably in a well-ventilated area).
Always allow the product to dry fully before reusing.
Tough Stains
Start with mild soap and water; gently clean the area and rinse thoroughly.
For more persistent marks, you may use a small amount of diluted bleach or hydrogen peroxide, then rinse thoroughly.
Air dry completely in a well-ventilated area.
Note: Darker liquids (coffee, tea, self-tanner) can stain if absorbed; lighter liquids typically do not. If spills occur, quickly remove them with a clean cloth or paper towel—avoid rubbing.
Handling
Handle with care: diatomite is strong but can chip or crack if dropped or hit.
Keep on a flat, dry surface with room for air to circulate; avoid enclosed or constantly wet areas.
Avoid placing heavy objects on top and keep away from direct heat sources.
